Ghost...my new story! ENJOY!
Chapter 1
Whispers were heard as the crowd gathered around Mel Ethleton to
see her usual street performance, watching mindlessly as she twirled and sang,
clutching an old metal bowl for collecting money in. She had no remembrance what
her life was like before she lived on the streets; all she knew how to do now
was how to do was sing, dance and bear with her life. She waited day after day
for the time she would pass, the time that would give her a great amount of
happiness and no more starvation and thirst. But what she did not know was that
that time would never come – she was the living dead.
Nobody knew her – she was just there. And when people would try
and save her, she wasn’t. Mel was always ‘that girl who performs’ but as soon as
word got around about her, everybody would forget about her existence.
Every night held a new reason to cry. She could never get comfy in her bed of leaves, no matter how hard she tried.
Fear was around every corner, in the middle of every street and alleyway. Unexpected visitors would force Mel to leave and sometimes trek for miles to find another 'suitable' place to live. A suitable place to cry.
