Lilianna - Could a imaginary friend lead a girl to danger?
Here is what I have writtten so far :) Enjoy!
1 1
Have you ever had a imaginary friend? I have one. We spend hours together, chatting about girly stuff and boys. Good old Lilianna. She’s the perfect friend, always there for me, especially when I’m bullied by Miranda Everest. You should hear some of the words that come out of her mouth! If only Miranda could hear her, she would shut up about me being a goody two-shoes for good.
Anyway, Lilianna is mostly a voice in my head, I barely see her. One day she is a glamorous blonde model, the next she is a geek with big glasses and braces.
“Chelsea!” called my older sister London. Yeah, I’m named after my parents birthplace and London is just the location. “Lunch! I made it!”
I bit my lip. London’s art skills are amazing, but her food isn’t as creative. She forgets to take things out of their packages, then microwaves oven only food and puts microwave food in the oven.
I was wandering downstairs, trying to be pleased with my sisters effort to cook, but Lilianna wouldn’t have it.
Tell London that you won’t eat this junk and you want Domino’s pizza! Or even better, get her to take you to McDonalds for a Chicken Select meal and Mcflurry!
“No- Shut up!” I hissed, a little bit too loudly.
“Are you ok?” asked London when I reached the bottom of the stairs. I smiled nervously.
“Um, yeah I’m fine” I replied.
“Well, anyway Chelse, I thought we could have some girly time as mum and dad are at work!” said London. She reached into her pocket and pulled out to tickets to a relaxation spa.
“Oh thank you, London!” I said, gratefully. Lilianna frowned. Today she was a tomboy with her mousy hair in a scruffy ponytail.
“We have a appointment at 1 o’clock – we need to leave now to be there on time” said London, leading me to her pink Mini, forgetting about her efforts to cook.
I don’t want her to Barbie-fy me! Come on, Chelsea tell her you want to go to the park and play some footie!
“Shut up!” I whispered. Luckily this time London couldn’t hear me because she was using hands-free to chat to her best friend Melanie.
Fine, I will possess you. I will possess you like a ghost, and you will be me....
I shook my head. Surely this was just my imagination. Lilianna couldn’t possibly possess me – could she?
I felt a tingle inside me, then suddenly I felt different. Why was I going to a spa? I hate spas! And suddenly I wanted to go and run away, run away as far away from London as possible.....
“We’re here!” said London, opening the car door. I jumped, then got out of the car and followed London into the spa.
“Hello, I’m Alicia, can I have your booking tickets please?” asked the lady behind the counter.
I spotted some hot wax in the corner, just behind the low wooden gate. I could reach it easily. I started to walk over to the wax. Why am I doing this? My hands lifted up the bowl, and it was now held high above my head. Soon I had marched back up to London, still clinging to the wax.
“What are you-ARGHH!!” screamed London.
“Call the police!!” shouted another lady dressed in a pink skirt and blouse. Her hands wrapped themselves round the phone, and soon her neatly painted nails were tapping the number keys.
Bolting through the door, I had no idea where I was going. Passersby stared and a few children watched eagerly like I was the latest film in the cinema.
I reached the more crowded part of town, spotting several police cars and a ambulance. I knew they were going to the spa, and I knew London would be in the ambulance.
It was suddenly hard to feel ashamed, for some reason I actually had enjoyed the experience of hurting my sister. Venturing on, the heavenly scent of chocolate filled the air. I passed a cake and coffee shop, and usually I would have ran straight in, but today I didn’t.
I still felt different, not my usual self.. After walking past a open day at a new theme park with free admission, I knew I definitely wasn’t.
Closed signs accommodated shop doorways as they sky went from a dreamy bright blue to a navy star-lit wonderland. I realised I better find somewhere decent for the night, but all I found in my pocket was a Tesco receipt and a penny. But I did not feel hunger, I did not feel tiredness.
Suddenly, I was fading away, until I was just a standing shadow. It was then it hit me. I was Lilianna.
Before I could work out how, or why, this was possible, I had faded away into the darkness.

I rubbed my head and straightened my glasses. Wait – I don’t recall having glasses. And on my teeth, I had braces! I wasn’t by the bench where I had faded, I was in a room. And it was mine!
But wasn’t in my bed. I was on the floor, and somebody else was in my bed. They woke up, turned around and then looked at me.
“Hello, Lilianna!” they said with a devious smile. “Seems you-or I now- have been a little bit naughty! Don’t worry, I erased every bodies memories so they wouldn’t remember about yesterdays little accident!”
I was shocked. Lilianna was me.
“Please, Lilianna, let me be me!” I begged.
“Fine. I will let you be the goody-goody you always have been” she put her fingers on her forehead, thinking hard. But I still wasn’t me. She had turned me into a 5 year old!
“Aww, a innocent little girlie!” Lilianna cooed. “Oh, and you’re not so innocent. You’re not potty trained!” she laughed heartily.
“Let me be real!” I pleaded.
“No- you cant’s speak. But now your 10. And potty trained. Now that must be good enough for Lilianna, the imaginary friend? What’s good for Chelsea, huh? Oh yes, a nice cooked breakfast at the cafe across the road!” she tapped me on the head with a old fairy wand that I had bought when I was 6.
I tried to complain, but I couldn’t. Lilianna could alter me how she wanted, so I had to be extra careful. For all I knew, Lilianna could make me a dragon or something ugly and I could stay like it. Forever.
